Ntungamo’s Coffee Marathon Draws Massive Crowd at Scenic Africa Coffee Park

Thousands of enthusiastic Ugandans converged at Africa Coffee Park in Ntungamo for the highly anticipated Coffee Marathon, an event aimed at empowering local women in coffee farming. Organized by Inspire Africa, the marathon brought together runners of all levels to participate in races spanning 5km, 10km, 21km, and 42km, with a staggering total prize pool of over UGX 146 million up for grabs. The marathon was more than just a sporting event—it was a movement to uplift women in coffee farming communities. By combining athletics with advocacy, *Inspire Africa* sought to raise awareness and funds to support female farmers, who play a crucial role in Uganda’s coffee industry.  
 
Deputy Speaker Thomas Tayebwa, the chief guest at the event, praised the initiative, stating, This marathon is not just about running; it’s about running for a cause. Supporting women in coffee farming means strengthening our economy and ensuring sustainable livelihoods for families
 
Participants from across the country laced up their running shoes, with winners in each category taking home substantial cash prizes. The event also featured entertainment, health awareness campaigns, and networking opportunities for farmers and stakeholders in the coffee sector.
 
 
Local beneficiaries expressed gratitude for the initiative, highlighting how such efforts help them access better farming tools, education, and market opportunities.  
 
With its overwhelming success, the Coffee Marathon is set to become an annual highlight, further promoting Uganda’s coffee industry while fostering community development and gender equality in agriculture.  
 
As the sun set over Africa Coffee Park, the cheers of runners and supporters echoed a shared commitment one step at a time, Uganda is running toward a brighter future for its women and its coffee.
