MBALE CITY – A community in Muyembe Cell, Maluku Ward, is in shock after a domestic altercation turned deadly on Tuesday night, resulting in the death of a local entertainer and the arrest of his girlfriend.

The incident occurred at approximately 9:20 PM on September 9, 2025, at the rented residence of the deceased, identified as Wanambwa Jonathan, a popular Music MC at the Oak Bar in Mbale City.

According to the initial police report filed by Mr. Bulya Fahad Musa, a neighbour, the tragedy unfolded when a woman named Hellya Sonia arrived at Wanambwa's home after he had invited her. Upon entering the house, Sonia found another woman, later identified as Namono Geraldine, seated on the bed.

The presence of Sonia allegedly triggered a violent argument between Namono and the deceased. In the ensuing struggle, Wanambwa reportedly instructed Namono to leave his house. It was at this point, witnesses state, that Namono allegedly drew a sharp object and stabbed Wanambwa in the back.

The victim's cries for help alerted neighbours, who rushed to the scene. They found Wanambwa lying in a pool of blood outside his rented room. They managed to apprehend the suspect, Namono Geraldine, on-site before rushing the critically injured man to Mbale Regional Referral Hospital. He was pronounced dead upon arrival.
