A violent confrontation unfolded in Ntawo, Mukono Central Division, when a group of assailants allegedly led by a man identified as Peter launched a brutal attack on administrators overseeing land formerly owned by the late Ssekiboobo Ham Mukasa.
The victims, including Ham Mukasa Galabuzi and Fahad Mutumba, had gone to inspect and clear portions of the farmland when they were ambushed. The attackers reportedly inflicted serious injuries and vandalised the Volvo vehicle the administrators were travelling in. Galabuzi, found bleeding heavily, later made a statement at Mukono Police Station before being referred to CPR Medical Centre, where doctors recommended specialised treatment due to the severity of his wounds.
Galabuzi maintained that the land in question is legally owned by his family, tracing its inheritance from his father, Peter Kasede, son of Ham Mukasa. He emphasised that there were no active disputes over the property and blamed the violence on a blocked access road used by third parties to extract sand from the area.

Mutumba, also injured in the attack, revealed that over UGX 17 million was stolen during the incident.
He called on law enforcement to take swift action, citing a court order that
had previously halted any activity on the disputed land. The family had reportedly planned to develop the site, including establishing administrative offices.
Residents expressed support for the Mukasa family’s efforts, noting that the land had become a haven for criminal activity and abuse against women. “Clearing this land is a step toward restoring safety in our community,” one resident said.

Police spokesperson Patrick Onyango confirmed the incident and assured the public that investigations are underway. He urged all parties to remain calm and await the court’s final decision.
Efforts to reach Ministry of Lands spokesperson Denis Obbo for comment were unsuccessful, as calls went unanswered.
