Mukono Municipality – The brutal murder of Ivan Oloya, a History teacher at Seeta High School, Mbalala Campus, has left the community in mourning. Oloya, 30, was stabbed to death in his rented house in Bajjo Zone, Nyenje Ward, Goma Division, allegedly by his cohabiting partner, Mercy Aber, a teacher at Code High School.
How the Tragedy Unfolded
Time of Attack: Around 7:30 PM, neighbors heard screams and alerted police.
Arrests Made: Five suspects, including a 16yearold, were detained.
Body Taken to St. Paul’s Church: Oloya’s body was publicly viewed at St. Paul’s Catholic Church, Mukono, where students, colleagues, and family paid their respects.
Who Was Ivan Oloya?
A Dedicated Teacher: Described as one of Uganda’s best History teachers, he was passionate about mentoring students.
