Police investigate School director for alleged exam theft

Mityana police investigate Bizmark High School director for alleged theft of exam registration funds.

The police in Mityana are investigating the director of Bizmark High School, Ssemakula Henry, for the alleged theft of money intended for student exam registration.

The preliminary investigation has established that in April 2025, the director collected 270,000 Ugandan Shillings from each of his seven Senior Four students to register them for the national UNEB examinations. However, he never submitted their registration.

It is alleged that for months, the director falsely assured the students and their parents that he had registered them and that they would sit their final exams at Kalangalo Secondary School, as Bizmark High School lacks its own UNEB center number. The scheme unraveled on October 12, 2025, when the director finally admitted to the victims that he had never registered them and they were ineligible to sit for the exams, prompting them to report the case to the police.

Further findings reveal that the school has only seven S.4 students and that the suspect operates the school single-handedly, acting as headteacher, bursar, cook, and guard, while teachers are reportedly brought in from other schools.

The police spokesperson, Racheal Kawala, has confirmed that active efforts are underway to locate, arrest, and prosecute the suspect.
