Eyewitness Account: Bomb Explosion Near St. Andrew Kagwa Church Munyonyo Shrine

A bomb explosion occurred earlier today at around 8:00 AM near St. Andrew Kagwa Church at Munyonyo Shrine along Entebbe Expressway, leaving two people dead.
 
Eyewitnesses report that the explosion happened when a motorcycle carrying a woman attempted to access the church premises. According to Hakim Kaaya, a resident in the area, the woman tried to enter the church but was stopped at the gate by security personnel.  
“There was a motorcycle carrying a woman who wanted to enter the church, but when they were denied access by soldiers stationed there, they turned back. Shortly after, an explosion occurred—something they had apparently planted,” Kaaya told Salt Media  
After the blast, residents rushed to the scene and found two bodies—a man and a woman—along with the destroyed motorcycle.  
 
Heavy Security Presence.
 
Our Salt Media correspondents on the ground report a heavy deployment of security forces, including UPDF and police, who cordoned off the area. Journalists were initially blocked from accessing the scene but later managed to enter under tight restrictions.  
 
Police Statement
 
At around 11:00 AM, Police Spokesperson CP Anatoli Muleterwa addressed the media, confirming that the two individuals were suspected attackers.  
“Security forces engaged and neutralized the assailants before they could execute their mission. No additional explosives were found,”ANATOLI MULETERWA stated.  
Authorities are investigating further, urging the public to remain vigilant.
