Mbale, Uganda – Police in Mbale are actively searching for an adult suspect accused of defiling a 9-year-old girl in Bulekya B Village, Namawanga Parish, Nabweya Subcounty. The incident occurred on [date] at approximately 5:00 PM as the young victim was returning home from collecting firewood.
According to the police spokes person  of elgon region  SP  Rogers  Taitika  said that  the suspect, identified as Balayo Robert, allegedly defiled the minor while she was on her way back from gathering firewood. Upon reaching home, the traumatized girl confided in her grandmother, Masawi Getu, who immediately reported the matter to Namawanga Police Station under Mbale District.
The victim, who has been under the care of her grandmother, was promptly taken for a medical examination. Police have recorded statements from both the complainant and the victim as part of the ongoing investigation. Authorities are now working tirelessly to locate and apprehend the suspect, Balayo Robert, for possible prosecution.
