Uganda International Badminton Challenge Kicks Off in Lugogo

Over 30 countries are participating in the Uganda International Badminton Challenge, currently underway at the Lugogo Indoor Stadium.

 

Simon Mugabi, CEO of the Uganda Badminton Association, highlighted the importance of the tournament in helping Ugandan players accumulate ranking points. These points are crucial for qualifying for the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles.  

Lubega Muzafuru, Uganda’s top-ranked badminton player, shared that the skills he gained from the All Africa Senior Badminton Challenge in Douala, Cameroon, have significantly improved his performance. He expressed optimism about Uganda’s prospects in the ongoing tournament and beyond.  

The event has drawn significant attention, with fans and sports enthusiasts eagerly supporting local and international players as they compete for glory.
