Jinja
The highly anticipated Source of the Nile Half Marathon is set to take place this Sunday in Jinja. Last year, the event saw 106 athletes register to compete, and organizers are expecting a similar or even larger turnout this year.
The Uganda Athletics Federation has confirmed that the 2025 edition of the Source of the Nile Half Marathon will also be held in Jinja. This event serves as a crucial platform for identifying and nurturing talent that can represent Uganda at international competitions.
The marathon is part of the federation’s efforts to celebrate 100 years of athletics in Uganda. Last year’s winners included Isaac Mande Kibet from Arua, who won the men’s category with a time of 1:04:48, and Annet Chelengat, also from Arua, who clinched the women’s title with a time of 1:13:50.
