A Woman Drowns and Dies In a Brick-Laying Pit in Wakiso

Residents of Gogonya village Ssumbwe parish in Wakiso district in shock due to the death of a resident who fell in a brick-laying pit.

The incident came about because of a heavy downpour that led to the death of the woman known as Mama Sam aged 37.

Residents blamed it on neglected uncovered brick laying pits all over the place and appealed to those responsible to fence them in order to avoid accidents.

One the leaders Buule Muhamad in his response to residents appealed to the brick makers put signs in place.

Balijja Jacob the husband to the late, on reaching the place collapsed when he glanced at the dead wife. The police arrived and took the deceased to Mulago hospital for investigation.
