Police  fight residents to recover body after resident falls into toilet pit and dies

Francis Mukalazi, 60, was found dead in a 30-foot toilet hole in Katende Kiwamirembe village, Kiringente suncounty in Mpigi district.



 Relatives and friends, weeped  unceasingly for the loss of their beloved.
Police from Nakirebe arrived at the scene and tried to remove the body and take it to Mpigi Hospital for postmortem, but residents and relatives refused saying that the body of  their beloved one is going no where.

Osere Jimro, Nakirebe police chief, tried to calm them down but to no avail. BiStanley Mukasa, the village chief, and Godfrey Ssemakula, the chairman, spoke about the death of the resident.

Stanley Mukasa and Godfrey Ssemakula Godfrey Ssemakula, the village chairman of Katende - Kiwamirembe, later told the residents of the importance of taking the body to the hospital for post-mortem.

Stella Namitala, the owner of Katende Junior school where the hole is located via phone line and she explained the incident. Stella said that the toilet pit was dug and covered to complete the toilet, however the pit collapsed leading to the terrible incident.
