15 PHONE SNATCHERS AND TRICKSTERS ARRESTED 

KAMPALA - On 05/01/2023 at around 1600hrs, the territorial Police of Old Kampala jointly with area LCs and goodwill members of the public conducted an intelligence-led operation in the basement of KK Trust building, Namirembe Road, Blue Room Zone, Kisenyi one parish.

This area has been a known spot of notorious phone snatchers, tricksters who sell phones and stealthily interchange them, giving their unsuspecting customers fake phones. These are promoters who buy stolen electronics, especially smartphones. The following suspects were arrested;

(1) Mutabazi James

(2) Wavamuno Amisi

(3) Balyejusa Joel

(4) Lugendo Edgar

(5) Gumisiriza Arthur

(6) Nyanzi Musafaru

(7) Waswa Musa

(8) Kwesiga Emmanuel

(9) Lusiba Ivan

(10) Ssemwanga Umaru

(11) Wokulira Daniel

(12) Mukwajanga Grace

(13) Kayiira Martin

(14) Oketcho Francis

(15) Mudima Musa.

Eighteen (18) mobile phones were recovered and exhibited.

They were all charged with Possession of suspected stolen property.
