On the 8th day of camp at the FUFA Technical Center in Njeru, the Uganda U17 Boys National Team, known as the Cubs, continued their intense preparations with a clear goal in mind: not only to excel at the upcoming U17 AFCON but also to secure qualification for the U17 FIFA World Cup. The AFCON tournament, scheduled for March 30 to April 19, 2025, in Morocco, serves as a pathway to the global stage, and the Cubs are leaving no stone unturned in their quest to make history.
Under the guidance of Coach Brian Ssenyondo, the team held a rigorous evening training session, focusing on tactical discipline, technical precision, and physical endurance. The players displayed remarkable determination, knowing that their performance at the AFCON could open the door to Uganda's first-ever U17 World Cup appearance. The atmosphere at the camp was electric, with every drill and exercise tailored to prepare the team for the challenges ahead.
Coach Ssenyondo emphasized the importance of teamwork and mental strength, reminding the Cubs that their journey is about more than just personal glory—it’s about inspiring a nation and achieving a historic milestone. As the sun set over Njeru, the players left the field with a renewed sense of purpose, their eyes firmly set on Morocco and the dream of qualifying for the World Cup. With each passing day, the Cubs are growing stronger, united by their shared ambition to make Uganda proud on the continental and global stage.
