They are now 9 medals; after two runners, Samuel Simba Cherop and Abel Chebet finished among the top three in the men's 10,000m finals. Chebet is confirmed for bronze, whilst Cherop and Bahrain's Birhanu Balew are still contesting for the gold and silver in the boardroom.Â
Balew blocked Cherop as he was overtaking him at the finishing line. The technical team are yet to come up with a ruling. On Wednesday, Uganda has different finals in the men's 1500m (Tom Dradriga), women's 800m (Halim Nakaayi), 400m men (Hadoli) and the women's 5000m (Charity Cherop and Cherop Risper). So far, Uganda's other medals have come from Swimming, Table Tennis and Boxing. Wrestling also starts on Wednesday with Veronica Ayo facing Sezim Zhumanazarova and Tekouk A Djamila from Kyrgyzstan and Algeria, respectively, in the women's 57kg cluster. Para-Power lifter Dennis Mbaziira competes on Friday, 21st November.Â
