MTN FUFA Awards 2024 Makes Glorious Return, Set to Honor Uganda’s Football Excellence

After a four-year absence, the MTN FUFA Awards are back with a grand celebration of Ugandan football’s brightest stars. The highly anticipated return of the prestigious awards was officially announced on Friday morning at Kampala Serena Hotel, where football stakeholders, legends, and sponsors gathered to herald the revival of the ceremony.

The 7th edition of the FUFA Awards will take place on May 30, 2025, at the same luxurious venue, exclusively recognizing outstanding performances from the 2024 football season. This year’s event promises to be bigger and better, with a new category—MTN Media Personality of the Year—added to the lineup, further enriching the recognition of contributors to the sport.

Under the theme “Celebrating Football Heroes, Inspiring Future Stars,” the launch event was graced by FUFA Awards Committee Chairman Hajji Hussein Rajab, members of the FUFA Executive Committee, Deputy CEO Decolas Kiiza, sponsors MTN, Nile Special, and Nivana, as well as football legends and key stakeholders.
