42-Days of Praying And Fasting

House of Prayer Ministries International embarks on 42 days of praying and fasting ahead of independence night

In a powerful display of faith and devotion, worshippers at House of Prayer Ministries International have commenced 42 days of fasting and prayer. The spiritual exercise, which began today, September 1st, is in preparation for the church's highly anticipated annual Independence Night celebration.

The inaugural prayers, which set the solemn tone for the coming weeks, were held at the church's Canaan Land and were led by the  Pastor, Aloysious Bujjingo.
Addressing the congregation, Pastor Bujjingo passionately urged Christians to actively participate in the fast, highlighting its dual benefits. He emphasised that the discipline of fasting is not only a profound spiritual act that deepens a believer's connection with God but also offers significant advantages for physical health and well-being.
This extended fasting period is a traditional precursor to the church's Independence Night gathering, a major event on its calendar. The gathering is held annually in the week leading up to the national Independence Day on October 9th, serving as a night of prayer, worship, and prophetic declarations for the nation.
Pastor Bujjingo also unveiled the theme for the first week of the fast, declaring it a time for believers to "chase Uzia out of their body." This biblical reference is understood to symbolise a period of intense personal purification, repentance, and deliverance from all forms of spiritual bondage and impurity.
In a special pastoral undertaking, the preacher announced that he will be conducting personal anointing for Christians throughout the week. This will be complemented by a dedicated special service this Saturday, designed to empower congregants for the spiritual journey ahead.
Adding to the intensity of the 42-day period, the church will hold overnight prayers every Friday until the fast concludes. These all-night Prayers are expected to be times of intense intercession and spiritual warfare for individuals and the nation.
