Prof. Madhu Joins Minister Namuganza to Celebrate Her Parliamentary Oath

The party served as a thanksgiving and solidarity event, celebrating Minister Namuganza's return to Parliament and her continued role in government. The Professor's presence underscored the strong bond of friendship and mutual respect he shares with Ugandan leaders and citizens alike.

Professor Dr. Madhu Krishan joined the State Minister for Land and Urban Development, Honorable Persis Namuganza, at her celebratory party held in Ntinda, Kampala.

The event marked her official swearing-in as the fully-fledged Member of Parliament for Bukono County, a ceremony that took place earlier in the week.

Professor Dr. Krishan, who traveled from the United States despite recovering from a month-long medical treatment, attended the gathering alongside other supporters and well-wishers.

During the event, Professor Krishan took a moment to address the gathering, offering prayers and encouragement to the Minister. He congratulated Honorable Namuganza on her achievement and commended her for her dedication to urban development and land issues, which he noted are critical to Uganda's growth. He prayed for God's wisdom, strength, and good health to guide her as she serves both her constituency and the nation.

The Professor also reiterated his admiration for President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni's leadership, which he had come to celebrate just days earlier during the swearing-in ceremony on May 12. He described Uganda as a rising example of African unity and progress, adding that his continued visits—despite his health challenges—are a testament to his respect for the country's leadership and people.

Honorable Persis Namuganza, visibly elated, thanked Professor Dr. Madhu Krishan for his support and for honoring her invitation. She described him as a true friend of Uganda and a man of humility and generosity. "Even from afar, His Excellence has shown us love. Today, being here with us means more than words can express," she said.

The Ntinda party was marked by music, dancing, and speeches from local leaders and constituents who turned out in large numbers. For many, the presence of an international figure like Professor Dr. Krishan added a special touch of honor to an already momentous occasion.

As Ugandans, we continue to celebrate the positive international relationships that individuals like His Excellence Professor Dr. Madhu Krishan cultivate with our country. Despite his ongoing recovery, he has once again chosen to stand with Ugandans—first at the presidential inauguration, then at a children's home in Wakiso, and now in solidarity with a female leader making strides in government.
