During a recent visit to Wakiso District, President Yoweri Museveni stressed the need for leaders to act on their promises and create wealth. During a working tour, the President visited model farms showcasing successful agricultural enterprises that provide employment.
President Museveni visited Mabamba Farmhouse and Training Demonstration Centre, owned by former MP Jacklet Atuhaire Rwabukurukuru, to see an integrated farming operation spanning four acres. The farm demonstrates diversified agriculture, combining dairy cattle, fish, poultry, and banana cultivation, and employs 25 residents.
The President commended Atuhaire’s initiative and announced government support to expand the farm’s operations. This includes building water reservoirs, installing solar power, and providing high-quality dairy cows. Museveni emphasised that such practical projects offer more sustainable benefits than political activities alone.

President Museveni addressed local residents in Kasanje, linking his farm visit to broader development priorities. He highlighted ongoing infrastructure improvements and urged voters to support leaders implementing development programs. He emphasised the Parish Development Model as a key tool for transforming rural livelihoods in Uganda.
The working tour continued in Makindye Sabagabo Municipality, where President Museveni inspected poultry and goat farming enterprises supported through government programs. These visits formed part of the President's ongoing efforts to promote agricultural modernisation and job creation ahead of the 2026 elections.
The government’s support for successful agricultural models, as shown by the farm visits, aims to replicate these models nationwide. President Museveni stressed the importance of prioritising practical development projects that benefit citizens over political activities. Local leaders and residents welcomed the President’s engagement, expressing optimism about increased agricultural opportunities in their communities. The tour highlighted how targeted government support for successful farming enterprises can create employment and serve as training centres for aspiring farmers. As Uganda implements its wealth creation agenda, such practical demonstrations will inspire similar initiatives across districts and municipalities.
