Kampala to Mengo  – In a vibrant display of loyalty and celebration, the  Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU)  organized a  special marathon  from  Kampala to Mengo Palace  , honoring the  upcoming birthday of Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II .
The event brought together government officials, cultural leaders, and hundreds of participants in a spirited show of unity and patriotism. Â
   Flag Off and Grand Procession  Â
The marathon, led by  PLU Deputy Leader Michael "Toyota" Wamala  and  Government Chief Whip Kilyowa Kiwanuka  , kicked off in Kampala with runners carrying banners celebrating the Kabaka’s legacy. The procession was joined by: Â
  Cabinet Ministers  Â
  Members of Parliament from Buganda  Â
  Cultural leaders and youth groups  Â
Upon arrival at  Mengo Palace  , the participants were received with cheers, symbolizing the strong bond between the Kingdom and national institutions. Â
   Messages of Unity and Gratitude  Â
 Kilyowa Kiwanuka  delivered a special message from  President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni  , extending warm wishes to the Kabaka and praising the enduring partnership between the  Buganda Kingdom and the Ugandan government  . Â
 Michael Toyota  , representing PLU, emphasized the significance of the Kabaka’s 30 year reign, stating: Â
 "We celebrate His Majesty not just as a cultural leader but as a unifying figure who has fostered development and peace."  Â
   Katikkiro’s Call for Service and Health Vigilance  Â
The  Katikkiro (Prime Minister) of Buganda  expressed gratitude for the marathon initiative but urged deeper commitment to  community service  across the kingdom. He also called on men to take an active role in: Â
  Fighting HIV/AIDS (Akawuka ka Mumenya)  Â
  Promoting health awareness and family protection  Â
   Grand Celebrations Set for Sunday  Â
The main  birthday celebrations  will take place on  Sunday, April 6, at Lubiri Palace in Mengo  , featuring cultural performances, speeches, and nationwide festivities. Â
