A section of National Resistance Movement (NRM) supporters in Kasese District have taken to the streets, protesting alleged irregularities in the recent party primaries for the Woman MP flag bearer.

Tension gripped Kasese Municipality as NRM supporters staged protests, decrying what they called "electoral injustice" in the hotly contested primaries.
The race featured three candidates:
Sarah Ithungu Baleke (declared winner with 65,664 votes)
Marylin Kabugho (63,060 votes)

Protesters accuse the district NRM chairperson of manipulating results in favor of one candidate, undermining 
DPC SP. Hassan Hiwumbire (Kasese Central Division) dispersed protesters, urging them to file formal petitions instead of street demonstrations.
