Residents of Kampala have been called upon to unite and boldly wear attire in the NRM party's yellow colours, including those featuring the image of the national leader. This appeal aims to dispel fears that their fellow citizens from the opposing side will confront them.
The call was made by the head of the Youth Wealth Creation program, Faisal Ndase, an initiative under the State House aimed at uplifting people in the informal sector.

Ndase explained that the NRM government, under President Museveni, has brought peace to Uganda, granting everyone the freedom to express their affiliation openly. Therefore, NRM supporters are free to wear yellow attire wherever they wish.
He made these remarks at St. Peter's Church, Kanyanya, during a meeting with residents from Kawempe North and South constituencies who are beneficiaries of the Youth Wealth Creation program.
In an organised effort, Ndase, alongside party mobilisers, announced plans to begin village-to-village campaigns to secure votes for President Museveni. He urged them to turn up in large numbers to show their support whenever the President visits Kampala.
He tasked the group with conducting door-to-door campaigns, focusing on convincing community leaders to help explain the good works President Museveni has done for the country and what he plans to do next, in order to win the people's hearts and secure their votes.
The members also agreed to form a Savings and Credit Cooperative Organisation (SACCO) and elected their leadership to steer the election mobilisation drive and manage the SACCO forward. Godfrey Ssande Muwanguzi was elected to lead the group.
Muwanguzi stated that the people of Kawempe are excited about this and other similar programs, which motivates them to lead this effort of campaigning for President Museveni.
He said the SACCO they have started gives them hope that it will help with the financial challenges people have been facing with money lenders, who have been exploiting many, with some even losing their national IDs to these lenders.
The Deputy Resident City Commissioner (RCC) for Kawempe, Jenifer Ssanyu Nasimbwa, urged the group to start mobilising for President Museveni's votes by beginning with their immediate family members—children, women, and men—before reaching out to others.
She further urged them that on the 15th of January 2026, they should go out in large numbers and vote responsibly, ensuring they complete the task of voting for Museveni and other NRM party candidates.
