President Museveni Commends Ugandan Scientists for Innovation and National Pride

Kampala, Uganda – President Yoweri Museveni has praised Ugandan scientists for their groundbreaking innovations, which are bringing honor to the nation through research and technological advancements.  

The President made these remarks during the National Scientists’ Week launch at Makerere University, an event showcasing locally developed scientific solutions.

While applauding scientists, Museveni urged them to move beyond traditional methods and embrace modern scientific approaches to solve contemporary challenges.

 2. Government Pledges Continued Support for Science  
- Makerere University received UGX 30 billion to boost scientific research and innovation.  
- The President reaffirmed the NRM government’s commitment to funding science, stating:  
"Investing in science is investing in Uganda’s future. We will continue supporting Makerere’s research initiatives."  

 3. Youth Encouraged to Lead Scientific Revolution  
Museveni highlighted that most innovators at the exhibition were young, urging them to drive Africa’s scientific independence.  
"Uganda’s future lies in its youth. With science, you can transform this nation."
