According to Lipoto Edrisa, a 50-year-old peasant and resident of Sogono B, the fires broke out in quick succession. His wife, Kayendeke Zainabu, was away buying beans when a neighbor alerted her that one of their huts had caught fire. As she rushed home with other residents to assess the damage, two more huts suddenly went up in flames, leaving the community in a state of panic and confusion.
The Kakoro Police Station was immediately notified, and a case was registered under reference GEF 01/2025. A team of officers from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (D/CID) visited the scene to gather evidence and obtain statements from witnesses.
