Abduction Of Two Children In Mityana Municipality

The Police in Mityana District are actively investigating two distressing cases of suspected child abduction, both occurring on 11th November 2025. Despite intensive efforts, no breakthrough has yet been achieved in locating the missing children.

The first incident, registered as CRB 1156/2025, took place at approximately 1250 hours at Mityana General Hospital. The victim, Ms Edith Ndiyomufasha, a resident of Serunyonyi Village, had just been discharged after giving birth two days prior. While she was organising her luggage, an unidentified woman she had befriended in the maternity ward offered to hold the newborn. Trusting the individual, Ms Ndiyomufasha handed over her baby girl. Upon completing her preparations, she discovered that the woman had absconded with the child.

The second incident, registered as CRB 1159/2025, was reported later the same day by Ms Nantume Sarah of Kitinkokola A Cell, South Ward, Ttamu Division. Ms Nantume had left her three-year-old daughter, Nasuuna Blessing, in the care of her six-year-old sister, Nakachwa Prossy, while she went to catch grasshoppers. Upon her return, she found only the older child at home. Nasuuna Blessing remains missing.

Appeal for Public Assistance

Investigations are ongoing, with officers pursuing critical leads. We are specifically utilising Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) footage from the hospital vicinity to identify the suspect in the first case.

We hereby make a heartfelt appeal to the general public, particularly the residents of Mityana:

To anyone with information: If you have any knowledge that could assist in the safe recovery of these children, we urge you to come forward immediately. All information will be treated with the strictest confidence.
To the individuals responsible: We call upon those involved in these abductions to immediately hand the children over to the nearest authorities. Doing so is in the best interest of the children. Be warned that if you are found in possession of these children, you will face the full force of the law.

Our primary objective is the swift and safe return of these infants to their families. We call upon the community to partner with us in this critical effort.
