Frustrated residents in Kyankwanzi District have raised alarm over the deplorable state of roads, accusing local leaders of failing to address the infrastructure crisis despite receiving government funds. The outcry follows a heated community meeting in Kikonda Town Council, where citizens voiced their grievances over impassable roads and alleged mismanagement of district resources.  

As Uganda commemorated World Press Freedom Day on May 3rd, journalists in Masaka used the occasion to demand an end to harassment and better working conditions. This is the home of Mumbere Lodrick, a 14-year-old boy who was abandoned and left in an internally displaced people camp in Muhokya by his parents after being displaced by the river Nyamwamba floods in 2020. 

Sam Omara, born in 1960 into a modest but hardworking family, passed away at Mulago Hospital after battling cancer, closing a remarkable 65-year journey marked by dedication to public service. While younger generations may not recognise his name, those who lived through the 1990s and early 2000s remember him as a formidable security officer whose intelligence and work ethic left an indelible mark.
