President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni of the Republic of Uganda and President William Samoei Ruto of the Republic of Kenya have signed seven new bilateral agreements, bringing the total number of cooperation and trade pacts between the two East African nations to 25. The signing ceremony marks a renewed commitment to strengthening economic collaboration and enhancing regional integration.

A massive fire has broken out at Kiboko Enterprises Limited, a prominent business located in Namuwongo, Makindye Division, sending plumes of thick black smoke into the sky and causing widespread panic in the area.

 The company, known for dealing in a variety of consumer products and wholesale goods, has reportedly suffered extensive damage.

The Petroleum Authority of Uganda (PAU) has urged local suppliers to embrace joint ventures to improve their competitiveness in the oil and gas sector.

 Speaking at a supplier development workshop organised by COSL Uganda SMC Limited in Hoima, Ms. Vivienne Nabbosa, PAU’s National Content Officer in charge of Contracts, said many Ugandan firms are hindered by limited financial and technical capacity.
