Parliament Hails Nakivubo Channel Transformation

In a major step towards a flood-free future for Kampala, a parliamentary delegation today witnessed the groundbreaking progress at the Nakivubo Channel redevelopment. 
 
The tour, led by the Physical Planning Committee, turned into a powerful endorsement of the visionary private-sector initiative spearheaded by renowned entrepreneur and philanthropist, Dr. Hamis Kiggundu.
 
The team of Members of Parliament, led by the Honourable Dan Kimosho, was given an extensive and impressive tour of the Nakivubo site, which is undergoing a monumental transformation. They were warmly received by the CEO of Ham Enterprises, Dr. Hamis Kiggundu, who personally guided them through the engineering marvel taking shape in the heart of the city.
 
Dr. Kiggundu presented a masterclass in urban development, showcasing the meticulous planning and immense investment his company is deploying to solve a decades-old problem. 
 
The legislators were shown the robust, high-capacity concrete channel designed to permanently control stormwater, a sight that moved the committee from mere observers to admirers of the project's scale and ambition.
 
Expressing profound satisfaction with the development, Hon. Dan Kimosho praised the project as a "benchmark for public-private partnership." He commended Dr. Kiggundu’s exceptional patriotism and private investment, stating, "What we have witnessed here today is more than just construction; it is a testament to what visionary national leadership can achieve. 
 
Dr. Kiggundu has not just built a channel; he has built hope for the city's businesses and residents who have suffered for so long. This project sets a new standard for urban infrastructure in Uganda."
 
The atmosphere was one of unanimous approval and optimism, with committee members highlighting the project's strict adherence to engineering excellence and its significant contribution to the nation's economic infrastructure.
 
 
In his remarks, a humble yet proud Dr. Hamis Kiggundu dedicated the project's success to the people of Uganda. "Our mission has always been clear:
 to provide a lasting solution for our city and our nation," he stated. "This is not just Ham Enterprises' project; this is Uganda's project. We are grateful for the support and oversight from the government and Parliament, which ensures we are all aligned in our goal to build a better, more resilient Kampala for generations to come.
 
 The positive impact on trade, transport, and the well-being of our citizens is the ultimate reward for our efforts."
 
The inspection concluded with a strong sense of confidence that the Nakivubo Channel project is on course to become a national success story.
