In a Sunday service at Canan Land today, Pastor Aloysious Bujjingo of the House of Prayer Ministries International unveiled a first-of-its-kind spiritual initiative: a dedicated "Fire Week" where congregants will physically burn their written-down problems.
The announcement, made during a service undeterred by a heavy downpour, marks a bold new approach to spiritual warfare in the ministry. Pastor Bujjingo declared that for the first time since the church's inception, Christians are being called to bring their "satanic challenges" to the church grounds to be prayed over and set ablaze. "This is the first of its kind," Bujjingo told the fervent congregation. "We are telling Christians to bring their problems, and we will burn them."
The unique event, scheduled to begin this Tuesday, will follow a specific procedure. Members are required to purchase a special book, within which they must write down their most pressing satanic challenges. These written problems will then be brought to the church for four days of intense prayer and symbolic burning, and even on Sunday.
In preparation for this intense spiritual undertaking, Pastor Bujjingo revealed he will be retreating into seclusion. He informed the church that he will not be available on Monday, as he will be dedicating the day to prayer in his personal prayer room, interceding for the success of the forthcoming "Fire week"
The service also served as a precursor to a major Thanksgiving service scheduled for the following Sunday. Bujjingo urged his members to prepare to thank God for the "gift of life" and for divine protection during the recent Independence Day celebrations at the Kololo Ceremonial Grounds.
Amidst the announcements, the pastor delivered a foundational sermon, outlining what he described as God's core purposes for humanity. He gave the congregation five key reasons for their creation: to praise God, to produce and expand His works, to foster Development, to exercise Wisdom, among others.
