The Rescue Women Foundation, in a strategic partnership with the Africa Raising Initiative, has launched a collaborative effort to address the plight of girls who become mothers before the age of 18 in Uganda.
Mariam Kiwumuro, the Director of the Rescue Women Foundation based in Namusera, Wakiso District, revealed that the organisation is currently caring for over 100 teenage mothers. She emphasised that this mission of raising the nation's children joyfully is one she has dedicated many years to. While at the foundation's offices in Namusera, Kiwumuro introduced a benefactor from the United States who has come to support their work in caring for these vulnerable girls.
 The move, which follows a months-long blockade on covering the Presidency, has been labelled a "direct affront to press freedom" and a symptom of a "growing cancer of intolerance."
