KAMPALA – In its annual Christmas outreach, the Ruparelia Group has extended vital support to vulnerable women and children in the Kamwokya area. As part of its corporate social responsibility, the group distributed essential food items and mattresses to residents of the informal settlements.
Â
This year’s beneficiaries included communities in Kamwokya Kisenyi Two and Mulago Nsooba Village, where the festive donation brought relief to many families.
Â
Speaking at the event, Sheena Ruparelia, a Director of the Ruparelia Group, stated that supporting people in need, especially those in slum communities, is a core family vision. "This support is geared towards implementing the legacy of the late Rajiv Ruparelia, who began identifying these slums to ensure they are supported," she explained.

Â
She added, "Every year we make sure such communities are supported, not only by giving food items but also by ensuring the hygiene of these communities is good."
Â
Beyond the festive donations, the foundation also unveiled a newly constructed toilet facility in Mulago Nsooba. The facility will serve both the nearby Good Samaritan Primary School and the wider Nsooba community, addressing a critical sanitation need.
Â
Kisira Noah, the Headteacher of Good Samaritan Primary School, praised the Ruparelia Group for the timely intervention. He highlighted the crucial importance of hygiene, noting that the school and community had long struggled with poor sanitation due to a lack of adequate toilets.

Â
The initiative was facilitated through a partnership with Ghetto Research Lab. Its founder, Mujuzi Patrick, explained why he approached the Ruparelia Group for support five years ago. "We go through a lot as people from the ghetto," he said, citing unemployment, poverty, and resource inadequacies. "In this regard, we are proud of them for always supporting us."
Â
Mujuzi Patrick further hailed the Ruparelia Group for promoting hygiene and sustainably improving living conditions. The new toilet facility at Good Samaritan Primary School is expected to benefit hundreds of children and community members in Nsooba East Zone, Mulago, who previously faced significant sanitation challenges.
