MPs sitting on the budget committee are disagreeing with the 127 bn needed for reallocation of the Ministry of Lands and Prisons Service to create space for parliament.
These funds have been highlighted in the physical infrastructure report presented by the deputy chairperson, also Nwoya County MP Tony Awany.
Kira municipality MP Ibrahim Semujju Nganda says prison services can use part of the spaces they have at major prisons in Luzita and Kitalya than wasting these meagre resources from the budget.
MPs have also queried the compensation funds for ranchers and kingdoms among others, where 120bn out of the 347.740bn has been availed without proper explanations.
Physical infrastructure deputy chair Tony Awany highlighted the funding gaps for road maintenance and promised to present a list of all bridges considered in the 2025_2026 financial year.
However, MPs have expressed displeasure at omitting several projects highlighted in the NDP 4 but missing in the budget.
According to the committee report,t there is a funding gap of 1.515,709 tn in the sustainable urbanisation and housing programme compared to 1,793,788 ,where only 62.075 has been available.
