Among to represent Uganda at pope Francis burial

The speaker of parliament, Annet Anita Among, shall officially represent the country in Rome at Pope Francis' funeral and burial.

 

According to the Vatican, the entombment of Pope Francis shall take place at St.Mary Major Basilica in Rome and will be attended by world leaders, including US President Donald Trump, France's Emmanuel Macron, the UK's Keir Starmer, and Ukraine's Volodymyr Zelensky, among others.

 

This has been revealed by the NRM vice chairperson for the Eastern region, Captain Mike Mukula, in a meeting this morning.

 

Pope Francis succumbed to a cerebral stroke and cardio-circulatory collapse on Easter Monday.

 

Funeral arrangements are underway as his body lies in state at St Peter's Basilica, and mammoth crowds pay their last respects at St Peter's Square.

 

Mukula says that Among will represent the president and soon will fly out for the funerals.
