Wagagai Gold Mining Company Committed to develop Busia District

Leaders in Busia Municipality have visited the Wagagai Gold Mining site, where illegal miners were recently evicted.

The delegation was led by the Busia District LC 5 Chairperson, John Charles Namayindi, alongside other local leaders, to assess the situation and explore ways of restoring order in the area.

The leaders commended Wagagai Gold Mining Company for its contribution to the local economy through job creation for residents.

They also praised the company for supporting community development, highlighting its role in improving healthcare services at Masafu Hospital by constructing a ward for patients.

Speaking during the visit, Jack Yu, the Operations Coordinator at Wagagai Gold Mining Company, said the company's goal is to contribute to the development and transformation of Busia District.

Other leaders, including Gaitano Obonyo from Obwenengo bwa Bugwe and Steven Mayende the Bulumbi Sub-county councillor, welcomed the briefing and expressed appreciation for the company's efforts and commitment to community development.
