City businessman Hajji Hamis Kigundu of Ham  Enterprises has embarked on a transformative project to redevelop the Nakivubo channel.
KAMPALA – Prominent city businessman Hajji Hamis Kigundu, through his Ham Enterprises, has announced an ambitious urban renewal project to rehabilitate Kampala's notorious Nakivubo drainage channel into a modern, eco-friendly waterway. Â
The proposed transformation seeks to address what has long been an environmental crisis in the heart of Kampala's business district. For years, the open channel has carried untreated sewage, industrial waste, and floodwaters through the city centre, creating health hazards and urban blight. Â
Kigundu's vision reimagines the channel as: Â
