Hundreds gathered at Namirembe Cathedral to honor legendary actor and playwright Alex Kigonya Mukulu, who passed away at 72.
In 1954, at Namutamba village in what was then Mubende District (now Mityana District), a child was born who would grow to become a significant figure in Uganda's arts and cultural scene. He was given the name Alex Kigonya Mukulu.
Fishermen on Lake Albert in Kikuube District, Bunyoro, have appealed to the government to end a continued harassment and unfair treatment.
The fishermen have denied allegations that they are involved in illegal fishing practices, including the use of prohibited fishing gears that deplete fish stocks.
The District Kadhi of Mukono, Sheikh Abass Muhammad Zubairi Ssenkuba Ssonko, has strongly condemned rampant corruption in the country, describing it as “eating bribes,” and urged the government to extend its anti-corruption drive to all institutions, including the security organs, particularly the Police.
Residents of Sanga Village, located in Wakiso District, have found renewed hope that their children will grow up to become valuable citizens in the future.
