2025 All-Africa Senior Championships which will be held in Douala, Cameroon from the 10th to the 16th of February 2025.
Uganda will be taking a team of 8 players ( 4 girls and 4 boys) and these include Husina Kobugabe, Gladys Mbabazi, Tracy Naluwooza, Shamika Fadilah Mohamad Rafi, Amos Muyanja (capt) , Kenneth Mwambu, Agatius Owiny and Rubega Muzafaru while Kalimunda Ivan will be traveling as the head coach of the team.
The team will travel without 2 players that is Kasirye Brian and Emudu Expendito who were on the team when these championships were last held in 2023 in South Africa where Shamika Fadilah won a gold medal in women's singles after defeating Johanita Scholtz in finals.
Karimunda Ivan the head coach says he has a lot of trust in his team even though some players he used in 2023 left the team.
He adds that they have a big task of winning again the gold medal they won in 2023 in South Africa or winning more medals
The 2023 gold medalist Shamika Fadilah is optimistic that she will again win the same medal in Cameroon
Fadilah says that since she is done with her S6 studies, she has no pressure and she wants to focus on the sport to see that she can be able to qualify for the 2028 Olympic games.
Different players have shown their readiness ahead of the coming Championships
The team is expected to travelling to Cameroon on 9th of this month
