Preparations are in high gear at the House of Prayer Ministries International, Canan Land, for a landmark event this Sunday: the hosting of His Royal Highness, King Jude Michael Mudoma III, the cultural leader of the Bamasaaba (Bugisu).
Â
Pastor Bujjingo told the congregation during the lunch hour prayers today. He highlighted the significance of the visit, marking it as a momentous occasion for the ministry and its congregation.
Â
In his address, Pastor Bujjingo emphasized the historic nature of the event, stating, "He is the first cultural king to be hosted at Canan Land apart from the President of the Republic of Uganda, H.E. Yoweri Kaguta Museveni." This underscores the unique honour being bestowed upon the ministry and the importance of the king's visit.

To ensure a vibrant and colourful welcome for the monarch, the Pastor issued a specific request to the congregation. He asked women to adorn their traditional Gomesi dresses, while men were encouraged to put on their formal suits. This, he said, would add to the grandeur and cultural significance of the function.
Â
A call for punctuality was also made, with congregants being urged to come early on Sunday, August 24, 2025, to partake in the official welcome ceremony for the King.
Â
The service will carry a national footprint as it is scheduled to be broadcast live on Salt Media. Pastor Bujjingo expressed his hope that the king would be given the opportunity to address the nation during the live broadcast.
In the same service, Pastor Bujjingo also extended an invitation to another major national event—the Independence Night celebration scheduled for September 26 at the Kololo Independence Grounds. He assured Christians that "whoever attends will not remain the same," promising a transformative experience at the event.
All eyes are now set on Sunday, as Canan Land prepares to roll out the red carpet for a royal visit that blends faith, culture, and national pride.
