A Sunday service at Canaan Land turned into a scene of emotional testimony and profound gratitude as a mother from Kanyanya credited the prayers of Pastor Aloysious Bujjingo for the miraculous rescue of her 11-year-old son from kidnappers.
Muddu Faridah, a resident of Kanyanya, stood before the congregation to share her harrowing story. She detailed how her son, Muwanguzi Favour, a Primary Five student at Homisdallen Kanyanya School, was abducted on Saturday. Against all odds, the young boy was rescued later that same day.
Muddu directly linked her son's safe return to a spiritual intervention. Just the previous week, she had brought Muwanguzi to the church during a special week of prayers for students preparing to return to school. There, the boy was anointed by Pastor Bujjingo.
“It was those prayers and the anointing from Pastor Bujjingo that saved my son,” Muddu testified, her voice filled with emotion. “I thank God who uses His servant to intercede for our children.”
Her testimony served as both a praise report and a stark warning. She called upon all parents to exercise extreme vigilance during this back-to-school season, a time when children can be particularly vulnerable.
Following the powerful testimony, Pastor Bujjingo made several important announcements to the congregation. He declared a new week of focused spiritual intercession, stating, “We are praying for families throughout this week, beginning tomorrow.”
He also announced a baptism ceremony scheduled for Saturday, encouraging all Christians who felt they had not been "baptised properly" to utilise the opportunity to reaffirm their faith.
Looking further ahead, the pastor directed the church’s attention to the Independence Night. He urged Christians to prepare for the annual Independence Night of prayer, set to take place on Friday, September 26, 2025, at the Kololo Ceremonial Grounds.
The service concluded on a note of celebration for Muwanguzi's safe return and a renewed sense of spiritual purpose for the week ahead.
