West Nile MPs To Mobilise Locals For Peaceful Demonstrations Over Unfulfilled Pledges.

MPS from West Nile have threatened to mobilise locals for a peaceful demonstration on Thursday, May 1st, against the government's unfulfilled promises to tarmac the Nebbi-Goli-Zombo-Vurra road, whose works have stalled for years despite the great support they have voted for the NRM in the past decades.

They say these roads have been included in the 3 national development plans, but we were surprised when they were dropped in the upcoming 2025_2026 national budget.

Addressing the media this morning, the team led by the vice chairperson, Dr.George Boka, says the peaceful demonstration will be a peaceful reminder and a right to be heard, and a call to action to fulfil the promises as the term of the 11th parliament comes to a close.

These have also promised to table their claims as they meet the party chairman, also President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, this Friday as they meet for caucus.

They are dissatisfied with the inequitable distribution of national resources and being sidelined despite expressing all their constitutional mandates of representing their people, but claim this might affect the performance of the party in next year's general elections if their demands are not adhered to here in this last cycle of the budget.
