The acting leader of the opposition, Butambala Mp Muhammad Muwanga Kivumbi, has ordered and directed all opposition MPs who may have received the alleged 100m donation from the president to return it to the giver.
He chaired a caucus meeting this morning, in which they resolved that all members append their signatures to prove that they did not receive the alleged funds.
It is alleged that between Monday and yesterday, NRM MPs and a few opposition MPs received 100m as a donation from the president for passing the controversial coffee bill and the pending UPDF amendment act.
In yesterday's plenary, the deputy speaker, Thomas Tayebwa, and government chief whip Denis Hamson Obua denied such claims and referred to it as street talk.
Kivumbi says opposition MPs who refuse to return the money will be dealt with by voters in the coming general elections.
