Mpigi District LCI chairpersons received appointment letters and were inaugurated. They voiced concerns about electricity, water, and animal theft, and pledged to work collaboratively with government officials to address these issues.
A meeting was held in Mpigi District, bringing together the area's Local Council One (LCI) chairpersons. The gathering served as a platform for these grassroots leaders to receive their official letters of appointment and to be formally inaugurated into their roles.
The meeting was presided over by the Presidential Advisor on Microfinance, Honorable Amelia Kyambadde. During the session, the newly inaugurated chairpersons collectively voiced significant concerns plaguing their villages. They highlighted the severe lack of electricity and clean water, as well as the rampant theft of domestic animals like goats, issues they stated are major obstacles to development in their communities.
The leaders also expressed their strong personal commitment to fostering effective and transformative leadership within Mpigi. In response, Hon. Amelia Kyambadde urged them to join her in the ongoing collective effort to resolve these persistent challenges.
Echoing this call for collaboration, the Presidential Liaison Officer for Mpigi, Saad Mwanje Muteesaasira, affirmed his dedication to working closely with the village chairpersons to ensure that government services are effectively delivered to the people.
