Jinja, Uganda – Education officials have emphasised the importance of preserving and sharing agricultural innovations developed by young learners during the ongoing National Youth Farmers' Exhibition along the Nile in Jinja. Â
The Minister of Education and Sports, represented by the State Minister for Higher Education, officially opened the exhibition, which showcases creative farming solutions from schools across Uganda. During the opening ceremony, education leaders stressed the need to properly document all displayed innovations to make them accessible to students who couldn't attend the event. Â
The Uganda National Farmers Federation, organisers of the exhibition, highlighted its role in inspiring practical agricultural education. Federation leaders noted the importance of supporting young innovators and expanding such programs to more schools nationwide. Â
Teachers and students participating in the event shared their experiences, explaining how their projects address real farming challenges. Many described the exhibition as an invaluable opportunity to learn from peers and demonstrate their creative approaches to agriculture. Â
The exhibition continues through the week, bringing together educators, students and agricultural experts to celebrate youth innovation in Uganda's farming sector. Education officials encouraged more schools to establish agricultural programs that allow students to develop practical skills. Â
