An Australian woman has been jailed for life, for murdering three relatives and trying to kill another with a toxic mushroom meal. 

Erin Patterson, 50, will be in her 80s before she can apply for parole a chance of release set for at least 33 years.

The historic election defeat in July has prompted the Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba to resign.

Ishiba announced that he is no longer the president of the ruling Liberal Democratic Party.

Former United States President Joe Biden recently underwent skin cancer surgery, his spokeswoman said.

Biden was the 46th US President he had Mohs surgery, but did not immediately provide further details.

Dozens of people have died in Nigeria's northern Niger state after a boat carrying about 100 people sank in a river.

The reportedly overloaded boat, carrying passengers including children, capsized when it struck a submerged tree stump near the Gausawa community in Borgu Local Government Area, officials said.
