Shadow over Tooro Kingdom following the suddenly death of King Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi IV last evening.
This follows a tight-liped situation about his health days before that would have been his 31st coronation anniversary on 12th September.
King Oyo Nyimba Rukidi died of cancer according to the Tooro Kingdom.
Tooro Kingdom in the past hours have informed the president of Uganda Yoweri Kaguta Museveni about the passing of the King to whom he was his regent because he ascended to the throne at the age of 3.
Tooro Kingdom Prime Minister Calvin Armstrong Rwomiire announced the death of the king shortly after 10pm on 27th August 2026.
Buganda Kingdom through Prime Minister Charles Peter Mayiga has extended condolence to Batooro and the nation at large.
Katikkiro Mayiga says that Buganda and Tooro have a close relationship and this will be maintained.
King Oyo at the age of 9 was at Kabaka's wedding on 27th August 1999.
King Oyo was born on 16th April 1992, began his reign on 12th September 1995. His official coronation was held on 17th April 2010 when he turned 18.Â
