Education Authorities Urge Teachers and School Owners to Remain Calm

As part of the annual meetings held at the beginning of each term to guide and instruct teachers, education leaders in Wakiso District have called on school owners and teachers to remain calm and accept the results of the recently released Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE) and Senior Four (S.4) exams.

The District Education Officer, Fredrick Kiyingi Kinobe, stated that they have received numerous complaints from people expressing dissatisfaction with this year's exam results. However, he emphasized that everything was done fairly, and the challenges arose from the implementation of the new curriculum, which focuses on the learner's competence.

Kiyingi noted that despite the challenges, the district performed well, achieving significant improvements in the results compared to previous years.

The Chairperson of the School Owners' Association, Bwambale William, said that the exams were not particularly difficult, but some school owners were surprised by the unexpected outcomes this time.

The Deputy Resident District Commissioner (RDC) for Kasangati expressed satisfaction, stating that government schools performed exceptionally well this year compared to private schools.

During the meeting, teachers were also urged to use the provided tools to prevent the spread of diseases such as Ebola and Mpox. Additionally, teachers raised their concerns and requests to the government.
