Kasese District is embroiled in controversy after State Minister for Lands, Sam Mayanja, appointed Resident District Commissioner, Lt. Joe Walusimbi, to oversee the survey of disputed land, triggering accusations of bias from protesting locals.  

Parliament Speaker Anita Annet Among has called on the National Identification Registration Authority (NIRA) to develop inclusive solutions for rural citizens lacking mobile phones during the ongoing digital National ID registration exercise. The Speaker raised these concerns while renewing her own ID at her Nakasero residence in Kampala.

Bwaise, Uganda – In an extraordinary display of admiration, Mutungi Nicholas, popularly known as Jajja Northern, sold his plot of land to fund the creation of a massive portrait of President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, whom he describes as his ultimate hero. The portrait, which cost him approximately 18 million Ugandan shillings, stands as a bold testament to his unwavering loyalty.

At least four people have lost their lives and one other was injured after they were involved in two separate accidents in Kasese district.
