The kabaka arrived amidst cheering and shouts of joy from thousands of fans who came to show support to their masaza teams of Singo and Ssese, and to honour the official opening ceremony of the tournament.

The Kabaka of Buganda officiated the kickoff of the Buganda masaza cup in Singo, After the national, Buganda and UN anthems were sung the Kabaka was given a ball on which he signed and it kicked to officially open the tournament.

The great outpour did not hinder fans from enjoying the opening match of Singo the host verses Ssese. Ssese was humiliated by Singo in a game that ended 3-0 in favour of Singo.
