Financial constraints continue to sour in the sports arena, as more sports heads come out to complain over insufficient funding, these include volleyball, boxing, basketball and so forth saying that the funds meant for them were given to other sports.

This month FUBA is to organize FIBA 5 basketball qualifiers for West African countries for both male and female. In the event FUBA fails, they will be fined; they are in misery for lack of money to organize.

Santur said that they were planning to bring some of the professional players playing from abroad but due financial constraints the plans are prone to fail.

Besides the senior team, the under sixteen-basketball team is preparing ahead for the basketball African cup tournament though the young stars may miss out due to lack of funds.

The FUBA officials say that they opt to prepare the young players because they have been trained, skilled, very talented and with the right stature for the game, putting in position to become great players in the basketball arena.

In every three months FUBA has been receiving Shs250m but this time they were given Shs107m though it is alleged that they would be meeting the national council of spots to discuss the matter.

As we talk now the budget for all sports is Shs17b, however, in financial 2019-2020, the money will increase up to Shs26b.
