Wakiso District  – Following days of relentless downpour, residents along the  Nakabugo Kigoma Bujuuko road  in Wakiso District are grappling with severe flooding, making transportation nearly impossible and forcing school closures. The  Wakiso Deputy District leadership  has stepped in, mobilizing emergency efforts to assist affected communities. Â
   Roads Submerged, Children Stranded  Â
The heavy rains have turned major roads into impassable waterways, with: Â
Children unable to attend school  due to flooded pathways. Â
Bodaboda (motorcycle taxi) operations suspended  as riders struggle through deep water. Â
Market vendors suffering losses  as floodwaters ruin perishable goods. Â
Residents and bodaboda operators report that the road becomes  completely unusable during rains  , while in dry weather, thick dust makes travel equally difficult. Â
District Leaders Launch Cleanup Intervention  Â
The  Wakiso Deputy RDC  and  local Gombolola (sub county) leaders  have initiated a  "Bulungi Bwansi" (community clean up) campaign  to address the crisis. However, progress is slow due to: Â
Abandoned vehicles and garbage  blocking drainage systems. Â
Extremely muddy conditions  hindering manual efforts. Â
Kansala Ssegawa Robert  , a local leader, condemned the reckless dumping of waste in drainage channels, urging residents to stop practices that worsen flooding. Â
Residents Demand Urgent Government Action  Â
Affected communities are calling for: Â
Emergency road rehabilitation  to restore access. Â
Proper drainage construction  to prevent future flooding. Â
Relief support  for businesses and families impacted by the floods. Â
