President Museveni Inspects PDM in Bwaise Amid Heavy Rain

The President also reiterated the government’s dedication to eradicating poverty.
President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni braved heavy rainfall as he arrived in Nabukalu Zone, Bwaise Parish, Kawempe Division, within Kampala District, to inspect the progress of the Parish Development Model (PDM).

The visit, aimed at assessing the implementation of the government’s flagship poverty alleviation program, was met with enthusiastic crowds despite the downpour. Local leaders, residents, and PDM beneficiaries gathered to welcome the President, showcasing their appreciation for his commitment to grassroots development.

During his inspection, President Museveni emphasised the importance of the PDM in transforming household incomes and uplifting communities from subsistence farming to commercial agriculture and other income-generating activities. He interacted with beneficiaries, listening to their experiences and challenges while urging them to utilise the program’s resources effectively.

The President also reiterated the government’s dedication to eradicating poverty through such initiatives, calling for unity and hard work among citizens.

The heavy rains did not dampen the spirits of the attendees, as cultural performances, songs, and cheers filled the air. Security was tight, with police and military personnel ensuring smooth operations throughout the event. Local leaders praised the President’s hands-on approach, stating that his visit underscored the government’s commitment to monitoring and improving service delivery at the parish level.

As the President concluded his tour, he assured residents of continued support and promised to address the concerns raised during his engagement.

The PDM, launched to accelerate wealth creation at the grassroots, remains a key pillar in Uganda’s Vision 2040, and President Museveni’s visit to Bwaise reaffirmed his administration’s focus on inclusive development.
